Smiling and Dancing Through Life

Discover T.J.'s Journey

T.J. first discovered her love for ballet at a local dance studio in Kitchener/Waterloo, Canada. At the age of 9, she began refining her classical ballet technique at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet
School, before continuing her training at the prestigious Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C.

It was through years of competing in dance that T.J.'s passion for a professional career in ballet truly solidified. She received numerous scholarships and awards, recognized for both her detailed technique and her ability to express herself artistically. At 11, T.J. was selected for the lead child role of Clara in Canada’s Ballet Jorgen’s touring production of The Nutcracker. By the time she was 17, she signed her first professional contract with Canada’s Ballet Jorgen.

In 2011, T.J. joined Koba Entertainment, Canada’s leading commercial children’s theatre company (directed by Patti Caplette, former principal dancer with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet), where she toured across North America. She performed a range of roles as both a dancer and an actor. One of her most unforgettable experiences was dancing as the lead ballerina in Max and Ruby Bunny Party on Broadway at The Best Buy Theatre in New York City.

In 2015, T.J. joined The House of Dancing Water, the world’s largest water show, created by Franco Dragone. Here, her role was a dancer, dance captain, and backup for the lead female
character. It was a dream come true, performing 10 shows per week to an audience of 2,000. T.J. honed new skills, including dancing in water, falling from an 8-meter-high trapeze, and
performing on a T-pole. One of the most thrilling aspects of her role as The Princess was the requirement to scuba dive, magically entering and exiting the stage underwater.

In 2024, T.J. joined Disney Cruise Lines as a MainStage female swing performer. Being part of Disney’s Broadway-style shows has been a truly magical experience, bringing joy and wonder to
families at sea. As a swing performer, T.J. covered multiple roles in the live Disney productions, quickly adapting to new characters and stepping in on short notice whenever needed.

In 2013, T.J. broadened her horizons by stepping into the world of film and television. She danced in the film American Girl: Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight, and appeared as a Baroque/
Court dancer on the CW's hit series Reign. She also had the exciting opportunity to work as a magic assistant for one of Britain’s Got Talent finalists, The Darcy Oake Show.

Outside of performing, T.J. is passionate about sharing her love of ballet with others. She dedicates much of her time to teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers. She has taught master ballet classes for all skill levels, with students ranging from 3 to 83 years old. T.J. has also coached elite figure skaters at the KW Figure Skating Club and volunteered at Toronto’s SickKids Hospital, bringing movement and joy to children in need of emotional and physical support. During her travels in Bali, she worked with the Ginatri Foundation as a volunteer ballet
teacher for underprivileged children in local villages—a truly special opportunity to share the joy of dance in communities that need it most.

Through every performance, every class, and every new opportunity, T.J. continues to live out her passion. She believes that no matter the circumstance, we can always choose to dance.
